Of course these vary, but here is a sample guide for timings that can work well for a traditional format wedding with a ceremony at 1pm and a three-course wedding breakfast after a drinks’ reception. 

We often find when planning a wedding, couples underestimate how long everything takes. Luckily, Godwick provides you with a wedding planner who can map out your day and suggest timings for you that will work. 


  • 12:00-12:30: Guests arrival
  • 12:15: First registrar meeting (usually groom)
  • 12:30: Tractor rides from the Accommodation (for those walking down the aisle)
  • 12:45: Second registrar meeting in the Bar area (usually bride)


  • 13:00: Ceremony begins

Drinks’ Reception:

  • 13:30: Confetti and drink reception
  • 15:00: Tractor rides to the ruins for couple photos
  • 15:15: Guests called to take their seats
  • 15:30: Introduction of the newly wedded couple
  • 15:35: Speeches

Wedding breakfast (or the sit-down meal)

  • 16:05: Starter
  • 16:45: Mains
  • 17:45: Dessert
  • 18:30: Tables cleared 
  • 19:00: Evening guests arrive

Evening Reception:

  • 19:45: Cake cutting
  • 20:00: First Dance & Band/DJ start
  • 20:30: Evening food available
  • 00:00: Last orders at the bar
  • 00:30: Bar closes and music stops
  • 1:00: Everyone to have vacated the barn and made their merry way home!
