Godwick is pleased to launch its latest self-catering property The Old Stables. Set in the grounds of the magnificent 19th Century Godwick Hall, The Old Stables is a little slice of rural magic. The 19th Century stable block has been refurbished and modernised to make it a stunning small holiday bolthole on the Godwick estate.

With uninterrupted views across open parkland towards the Lost Village of Godwick, one of the best preserved deserted medieval villages in Norfolk with its own heritage trail, this is a truly magnificent spot that is only 15 miles from sand and sea of well known north Norfolk beaches of Wells and Holkham.

This Old Stables is the latest collaboration of Godwick Hall owner James Garner and local interior designer Tracey Grint of Moochi Modo Interiors and it has produced breath-taking results, resulting in rooms that combine a light and airy feel with a pared-back Skandi style that exudes space and calm. Both the kitchen/diner and the master bedroom have French doors that can be flung open to a large south-facing walled garden complete with its own HaHa that affords uninterrupted views across ancient parkland.

Both sets of French doors open onto the south and west facing patio and large garden giving that close to nature feeling that Godwick is so in tune with.

The west bedroom is a jaw dropper with its stunning high-vaulted ceiling and four poster bed with the best dreamcloud mattress you can buy, providing the perfect environment for a good night’s sleep. Behind the bed is a floor-to-ceiling mural that simply has to be seen to be believed.

The middle bedroom is equipped with a bath and ensuite loo, double basin, and mirror TV in the bathroom. A king-size double bed and stunning mural night-time landscape sits behind the bed making for a peaceful and relaxing room.

The bedroom at the east end of the property, known as the frog room, due to it’s beautiful Arte frog-inspired wall paper from the Belgium design house.  It is equipped with a super king luxury bed, which is a zip and link, so it can be configured as a twin room too. It has a huge ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower and double basin. The Frog wallpaper, behind the upholstered headboard,  is making its UK debut in The Old Stables… perhaps this is why we have called it the Frog Room!

The living room has a huge wall length sofa to accommodate all six guests, and a central woodburner with TV above the mantelpiece. This will be a wonderful room in which to unwind and take in the views with its high beamed ceiling giving a spacious and relaxing feel.

The modern kitchen/diner also has French doors opening to the patio beyond and the most amazing views across the Godwick parkland to the Great Barn in the distance. The ample workspace is bolstered by a beautiful ash-topped central island. As well as dining table and chairs for six, the kitchen is equipped with a high-level oven, fridge, dishwasher and wine cooler. The property also has a washing machine and a tumble dryer.

Landscaping of the garden area to the south is continuing to develop a specially designed outside dining area (currently under construction). To the east side of property is a small gated morning patio area benefiting from an easterly aspect. Beyond this patio is ample car parking for all guests.
