Some evenings stay with you long after the last guest has gone home.

Our Midsummer Wedding Venue Showcase at Godwick Great Barn was one of those evenings. As the Norfolk sunshine poured across the countryside, couples explored Godwick, met our wonderful suppliers, chatted to some of the team, and imagined what their own wedding day could look and feel like at our family-run Norfolk wedding venue.

Inspired by the romance of Monet’s Garden, every space was thoughtfully transformed through a creative collaboration with some of our favourite Norfolk wedding suppliers. Together, we brought our countryside wedding venue to life, offering endless wedding inspiration for couples dreaming of a romantic barn wedding, an unforgettable outdoor ceremony, and a relaxed wedding weekend surrounded by nature.

Whether guests were newly engaged or already planning their celebration at Godwick, the evening was designed to showcase everything that makes our venue so special – from our historic barn and luxury accommodation to our idyllic countryside setting.

More than anything, we hope everyone left feeling inspired, informed and excited to begin their own wedding story at one of Norfolk’s most distinctive wedding venues.

Every beautiful showcase begins long before the first guests arrive. Earlier that day, our creative collaborators transformed Godwick into a living wedding story with our gorgeous model couple Alice and Phil – an opportunity to capture inspiring moments throughout the venue that celebrated beautiful collaborations, the perfect spaces and the atmosphere of a countryside wedding at Godwick.

Creating an evening that felt immersive, inspiring and wonderfully authentic.

We would love to take a moment to celebrate the creative team and thank them for all their support:

The Art of Styling

Now let’s delve into our showcase in a little more detail – as you can see, the event was beautifully styled by Penny at Synched Events. This year’s showcase drew inspiration from the romance of Monet’s Garden. Soft, painterly florals, flowing draping, delicate stationery and graceful swan details transformed each space, blending effortlessly with the character of our historic barn.

Every element was thoughtfully layered, from winding aisles and abundant floral installations to artisan bread paired with sculptural decorative butters – each area was thoughtfully designed, creating an atmosphere that felt romantic, immersive and effortlessly elegant.

A beautiful reminder that the most memorable weddings are inspired by thoughtful details and a true sense of place.

Flowers That Took Our Breath Away

Millie from Studio Artemis created floral installations that quite literally stopped guests in their tracks. Working alongside the beautiful jasmine arch and potted trees from The Romantic Garden Nursery, she transformed each ceremony space into an immersive, garden-inspired setting that perfectly captured the romance of Monet’s Garden.

Abundant arrangements of garden roses, hydrangeas, delphiniums and delicate meadow-inspired blooms in soft blush, lilac, lavender, ivory and fresh green spilt effortlessly through our indoor ceremony space and across the dining tables. Outside, our circular ceremony overlooking the Norfolk countryside, grazing sheep and the historic Lost Village of Godwick ruins felt as though it had grown naturally from the landscape itself, creating an unforgettable setting for a midsummer celebration.

Food Made for Summer Evenings

As the evening settled into golden hour, guests gathered outside with handcrafted canapés and beautiful dessert trays by B and R Dining. We are still dreaming about their fresh sushi and kofta balls.

With drinks in hand and conversations flowing across the lawn, it was easy to picture the relaxed celebrations that make summer weddings at Godwick so special.

A Cake Worth Gathering Around

Imogen from Edge by Imogen Davison created a showstopping swan-inspired cake that was almost too beautiful to cut. Alongside her stunning cake, she also showcased one of this year’s most talked-about wedding trends – beautifully sculpted decorative butters, designed to accompany a fresh artisan bread station and add an unexpected touch of elegance to the dining experience.

A wedding cake should be more than dessert; it should tell your story, reflect your style and become one of those details your guests remember long after the day is over.

Music That Filled the Barn

Throughout the showcase, beautiful live piano from Carrie O’Donnell drifted through the Great Barn, creating the perfect soundtrack for the evening.

Sometimes it’s the smallest details that guests remember most, and music has a wonderful way of making a space feel instantly welcoming, deeply personal and emotional.

The Magic of Golden Hour

As the sun began to set, the lawns filled with laughter, glasses clinked, and conversations continued beneath a sky painted in soft summer light.

Those final moments felt everything we hope a wedding at Godwick will be –  relaxed, joyful, beautiful and shared with the people who matter most.

There was no timetable to follow – just time to explore. Guests wandered through the Great Barn, discovered our ceremony spaces and explored every corner of the estate, from Godwick Hall with its pool and sauna, to The Old Stables, Shepherd’s Huts and Stargazer Bell Tents.

A place to wander, imagine & feel at home.

Capturing Every Little Moment

We loved watching Alicia – Aurora Grey Photography capture the evening so naturally, preserving not just the details but the atmosphere too.

Alongside Alicia, Mike Savory Wedding Films and Rebecca from Soirée Stories documented every detail and behind-the-scenes moment. We can’t wait to share even more from the evening soon – be sure to follow us at Godwick Weddings.
