Winter weddings can offer a cosy get together for you and your family, and there’s no better place to celebrate this magical season than at Godwick. With options to suit every style and size of celebration, cosy accommodations, and breath taking views, Godwick offers a winter wedding experience like no other. Here’s six good reasons why you should say “I do” to a winter wedding at Godwick:

1) Venue Options for Every Occasion

Whether you’re planning a grand celebration, an intimate gathering, or a romantic elopement, Godwick has you covered.

Our rustic 430-year-old barn can offer weddings for up to 120 guests, and evening parties for up to 200. Enjoy the blend of Godwick’s historic atmosphere and its modern amenities to make your day feel unique and unlike any other.

We can also offer smaller wedding ceremonies for up to 25 guests at our beautiful Georgian-designed Hall. Godwick Hall offers accommodation sleeping up to 14 adults with an additional 6 adults in the Old Stables. We also can offer three individual Shepherds Huts as further accommodation, all well heated.

Alternatively, experience the cosiest romantic getaway with our “Just for two” Elopement package. Run away together and say your “I do’s” with the stunning backdrop of Godwick Hall, then tuck yourselves away in one of our cosy Shepherds Huts for a two-night-stay.

2) Warm and Cosy Spaces

Godwick ensures your winter wedding is as warm as it is beautiful. Who would have thought that we could make an Elizabethan barn so warm and inviting?! Fitted with underfloor heating and additional heaters available, we can keep the chill at bay ensuring you are comfortable on your big day.

Our accommodation is fitted with a range of wood burners, open fires, underfloor heating and radiators throughout. We can ensure that you won’t feel the cold on your wedding night!

3) Winter’s Natural Beauty

Godwick’s open landscape transforms into a frosty wonderland during the winter months. Enjoy sweeping views of the countryside, sprinkled with grazing sheep. You might even get to see one of our beloved adult male sheep – Frodo and our new ram Bilbo! Experience the magic of a frosty morning or a light snowfall, creating the perfect backdrop for beautiful wedding photos.

4) Get down with the Finns in Godwick’s newest addition

This autumn we installed a wood-fired sauna at Godwick Hall. Imagine relaxing by the crackling of a real fire burning as you enjoy the health giving properties of a good sauna experience. Equipped with lighting and benches, relax in our woodfired sauna the day before and after your wedding.

5) Cosy Evenings

From intimate candlelit dinners to mingling by the fire, winter weddings at Godwick are all about creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. Enjoy the evening before your wedding curled up in front of the fireplace with a book, before tucking into a feast in our large dining room. Have the spa experience of popping over to the sauna before indulging in one of our large baths equipped with our Bramley Bubble Bath, now you’re ready for the big day ahead.

6) Plenty of Availability

Being in the off-peak season, winter weddings often have plenty of availability, not only at Godwick but also for your most desired suppliers, who are often booked up in the summer! With less competition for dates, you can plan your dream wedding without the stress of high demand. On top of this, as it is the off-peak season, prices at Godwick are lower, bucking the trend of the traditional Christmas price increases widely seen in hospitality,  meaning you can save your money at what is often an expensive time of year.

A winter wedding at Godwick combines the romance of the season with the comfort and charm of a thoughtfully designed venue. Whether you’re dreaming of an intimate elopement or a grand celebration, Godwick is the perfect place to make it happen.
